Hemorrhoids are very common affecting more than 50% of the population. Our in-office banding procedure is one of the least invasive options available.
By the age of fifty years old, more than half of the population will have hemorrhoids. This is important to know because they are so common, but are rarely talked about. They can be painful and irritating, so there are options available to treat them. Some hemorrhoids resolve spontaneously, but others require some level of intervention from the patient and/or their doctor.
In the past, patients had the options of diet modification, personal hygiene changes, or a colonoscopy to treat their hemorrhoids. Now, our physician can treat them in the office with a very simple banding procedure that is incredibly effective if diet modifications do not resolve the hemorrhoids naturally. The banding procedure is one of the least invasive options available and is often effective in only a few short days.
Other procedures for treatment of hemorrhoids are also available, such as a chemical injection, freezing/laser/heat treatment, and surgical removal. Ask Dr. Janecki. which option is best for you.
